My favorite poem

Daffodowndilly
She wore her yellow sun-bonnet,
She wore her greenest gown;
She turned to the south wind
And curtsied up and down.
She turned to the sunlight
And shook her yellow head,
And whispered to her neighbour:
"Winter is dead."

III. My Reaction

A. Reaction Point - Personification(擬人化)
In this poem use Personification. Personification is givinghuman characteristics to something non human.
This poem's hero is a daffodil. It is a plant. Petals are yellow-bonnet and a stem is green gown. The daffodil's actions are like human, for example, "shook her yellow head" and "wispered to her neighbour".

B. Reaction Point - Imagery(想像)
Imagery is visually descriptive language that creates pictures in one's imagination.
This poem doesn't  say "There are two daffodilly. They are talking about spring come." but, we can imagine two plants. And, we can understand winter had gone, spring has come. However, we can't understand these are daffodilly.

C. Reaction Point - Theme(テーマ・主題)
This poem's theme is coming spring. Theme is the central idea of a work of literature.
Last sentens of this poem "Winter is dead." After winter, next come to spring, so daffodilly feels sun, breeze, warm.

D. My General Opinion
I think this poem is written in winter, because winter is long and we can not wait come to spring. Daffodillies are winter's plants so, one daffodilly told her neighbour to "Winter is dead." I think this mean is we will die. This poem's theme is bit sad, but I like this poem because I think spring is something new. I think wiriter, A.A.Milne, liked spring, too!
